In 1887, in Tokyo, Niroku Masaki founded the Masaki Pencil Manufacturing Company . As its name suggests, this company was dedicated to the manufacture of graphite pencils. After World War II, it became The Mitsubishi Pencil Company.
In addition to making very high quality pencils, this Japanese company produces various types of pens, including those of the popular Uni-ball brand.
