We are very happy to offer private or small group espresso preparation lessons!

This course is for beginners as well as coffee enthusiasts. :)

A reduced cost is available for Indigenous, Black, and People of Color individuals using the code: BIPOC

First, we'll go over the science behind brewing espresso. Then we'll taste some coffee together and discuss aromas and flavours. After, you will have the opportunity to practice and prepare your own shot behind the machine.

We provide all coffee, oat milk and necessary equipment for the experience!

All participants will also get a 10% discount on all stationery products at regular price, as well as on bags of coffee beans.

The training lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours and is offered in French or English. Please select your preferred language to browse available dates. 

Please read the following before booking a training:

  • Reduced cost training is only reserved for BIPOC (indigenous, black or people of color) participants in solidarity


  • This course is reserved for people aged 18 and over


  • The course is non-refundable


  • If you wish to change the date of your course, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance by email ( info@nuevaera.ca ) or by telephone (514) 277-5588. Please note that due to a high volume of cancellations, we must now charge a fee of $5 per person for reservations changes.

  • If you wish to change the date of your course without a 24-hour notice, we will charge a fee of 30% of the training price per person.

  • There are no bathrooms on site , but we are located less than a 5-minute walk from the Marc-Favreau Library, where toilets are available until 8 p.m. on Thursdays, 6 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.


  • The store has exterior and interior steps


  • The majority of the training requires standing, but a chair is available to sit on if you need it


*About Nicole:

She has over 10 years of experience in the specialty coffee field. Originally from California, she worked as a barista during her university studies before settling in Montreal and working with local roasters as a manager and trainer.

She taught at the Montreal Coffee Academy and won 2nd place in the 2020 Canadian National Cup Tasters championship organized by the Specialty Coffee Association.

She is passionate about coffee and wants to inspire people to deepen their knowledge of specialty coffee in a warm and judgment-free environment.
