In 1897, Tokumatsu Ishiwaka dedicated himself to making the very first Japanese metal nibs, until in 1914 he decided to found Zebra.
Since he had an immense desire to build a business with a family culture, he named it in honor of zebras with strong herding instincts.
In 1945, the Zebra installations were unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War, but they came back to life in the 1950s.
Today, Zebra produces writing instruments that are both affordable and of high quality.
